Who this covers

Together is a private, invitation-only tool for two committed partners to reflect on their relationship. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and what we will not do with it. The operator of the service is Tarun Nimmagadda (contact: ntarun@gmail.com).

What we collect

• Account info: your Google email, display name, and Google user ID — obtained via Google Sign-In. We use this to identify you, pair you with your partner, and scope all data to your couple.
• Audio recordings you upload: shared between the two of you, used for transcription and analysis.
• Transcripts and analyses: generated from your audio via Deepgram (speech-to-text), Hume AI (emotional prosody), and Google Vertex AI / Gemini (framework-based interpretation).
• Reflection answers: text you type in response to guided prompts.
• Private session messages: 1-on-1 chats with the AI. Stored under your user ID — your partner cannot read them.
• Calendar data: if you grant Calendar access, upcoming events you choose to read in-app and events we create on your behalf (date nights, reflection sessions).
• Email data: if you grant Gmail access, we may read message metadata (subject, from, date, snippet) only for context you've asked us to consider (e.g., "summarize last week's exchange"). We do not bulk-scrape inbox contents.
• Audit log: server-side record of who did what when (e.g., uploaded audio, sent email), for security review.

How we use it

• To run the service: store your uploads, render your dashboard, connect you to your partner.
• To produce relationship analysis using the transcription, prosody, and AI frameworks described above.
• To send transactional email to you and your partner (e.g., "Rachel just uploaded a new conversation"). We use Resend as the delivery provider. We do not send marketing email.
• To schedule events between the two of you via Google Calendar.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. Data is processed by the following sub-processors, each used only for the stated purpose:

• Google Cloud Platform / Firebase — hosting, authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage (audio), Cloud Functions (backend). Region: us-central1.
• Google Vertex AI (Gemini 2.5 Pro) — AI analysis and private reflection sessions.
• Google Calendar API — reading upcoming events and creating invites you request.
• Google Gmail API — reading email metadata only when you ask the app to use it as context.
• Deepgram — speech-to-text transcription of your uploaded audio.
• Hume AI — emotional-prosody scoring of your uploaded audio.
• Resend — delivery of transactional email to you or your partner.

Your data is not shared with anyone outside your couple except as required to operate the service through the processors above, or to comply with law.

Google user data (Gmail and Calendar)

Together's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

• We only use Gmail and Calendar data to provide user-facing features you've explicitly asked for.
• We do not use Gmail or Calendar data to train general AI models. Analyses are run against your own data only, within your own couple's scope.
• We do not sell or transfer this data to third parties except as strictly necessary to provide the feature (e.g., using Google's own APIs).
• We do not allow humans to read your Gmail or Calendar data, except with your explicit consent, for security and abuse prevention, or to comply with applicable law.

How we protect it

• All traffic is TLS-encrypted end to end.
• Audio and databases are encrypted at rest by Google Cloud.
• Firestore Security Rules enforce couple-level data isolation — no user can read another couple's data, by path structure and rule-level membership checks.
• Private sessions are scoped to your individual user ID — your partner has no path to reach them.
• API keys and OAuth client secrets are stored in Google Secret Manager, not in code or the client.

How long we keep it

Data is retained for as long as your couple space is active. You can delete any single conversation or your entire couple space at any time from within the app. Deletion propagates to audio storage, transcripts, and analyses.

Your rights

• Access, export, or delete your data at any time.
• Revoke Google API access at any time via your Google Account permissions page.
• Sign out, sign in with a different account, or stop using the service at any time.

Children

Together is for adults in committed relationships. It is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We will post updates to this page and notify you in-app if material changes occur.
